The Hungarian Solar Association (MNNSZ) reported in April 2026 that installed solar capacity crossed the 4 GW threshold for the first time — up 18% YoY.

Growth is now led by commercial and industrial projects plus battery-paired residential systems. A 100 billion HUF (~€250M) storage scheme offers up to 2.5M HUF (~€6,200) per household above 10 kWh.

MNNSZ expects the total to reach 4.5 GW by year-end — enough for about 12% of Hungary's annual electricity consumption.
