Leapmotor B10 Range Extender now orderable from €32,400

Leapmotor, the Chinese EV brand operating in Europe through a joint venture with Stellantis, has launched orders for the B10 Hybrid EV in Germany. The compact SUV is equipped with range extender (REX) technology, where a petrol engine continuously charges a smaller battery pack to significantly extend the vehicle's range beyond what a pure battery EV of similar size could offer.

The entry-level version starts at €32,400, positioning it competitively in the affordable compact SUV segment. The Stellantis partnership means the car is sold and serviced through an established European dealer network, which has been a key advantage for Leapmotor in building consumer trust across the EU market.

Range extender technology is gaining renewed attention as a practical bridge solution for drivers who are not yet ready to commit to full battery EVs, particularly those who regularly cover longer distances or lack reliable home charging. Unlike plug-in hybrids, a REX vehicle is primarily electric-driven, with the combustion engine acting solely as a generator.

The B10 Hybrid EV is expected to roll out to further European markets following the German launch. For international buyers, the €32,400 starting price competes directly with similarly sized European and Korean hybrid SUVs, making Leapmotor's value proposition increasingly difficult to ignore.
